Overview:
Multiblocs, also known as inlet valves or combination valves, are a specialized solution tailored for unvented cylinders. Renowned for their ease of installation, these versatile components can be installed either vertically or horizontally, with the pressure reducer positioned as the foremost element. Each multibloc is equipped with a pressure reducing valve, a pressure relief valve, and an internal check valve, ensuring comprehensive functionality. Moreover, these units may include dedicated connections for balanced cold water take-offs and expansion vessels.
Incorporated within the manifold, the expansion vessel connection typically features a black plastic plug, threaded into a ¾" female socket. This enables installers to connect either an expansion vessel hose or a ¾" female to compression adaptor, facilitating compatibility with copper pipes. Meanwhile, the balanced cold feed showcases a 22mm compression fitting. If this feature isn't utilized, installers have the option of fitting a ¾" copper cap or a blanking plug. On the opposite side of the expansion vessel plug, the gauge port resides, featuring a ¼" FBSP connection, often covered by a factory-fitted plug.
Each Multibloc is meticulously engineered with a specific cylinder in mind, pre-set and locked at the required bar pressure. Their primary function is to safeguard unvented cylinders by regulating the mains supply pressure to the tank, though it's important to note that their scope does not encompass regulating the pressure for the entire property.
